ABOUT THIS EVENT
THIS EVENT HAS SOLD OUT OF TICKETS!
Every year, on the Thursday before Thanksgiving, the Greensboro community comes together to fight hunger by participating in the Feast of Caring. During the holiday season, many face hunger and are unable to sit down to a holiday feast. They will be alone, hungry and in crisis. All proceeds come back to Greensboro Urban Ministry programs to fight hunger, homelessness and poverty in our community.
Hundreds of participants join us for either lunch or dinner on the day of the event. Local restaurants provide a variety of gourmet soups & homemade bread that can be enjoyed for a minimum donation of $30 and each guest can select a piece of handcrafted N.C. pottery or 6 beautiful William Mangum Honor Cards to take home with them. More than fifty of the area's most talented potters donate their handcrafted bowls for this special event!
Due to the safety concerns from the ongoing pandemic, this year's event will be a hybrid version of the event, with advance ticket sales for a walk-thru pick-up event. Participants can purchase their tickets online or by calling 336.553.2641 to reserve tickets. Ticket purchasers will select their choice of soups and either Honor Cards or pottery, and their pickup time at the time of ticket purchase. Soup choices are: Senegalese Chicken Soup (contains peanut butter), Vegetable Beef Soup, Matzoh Ball Soup, Chicken and Rice Soup.
